I cannot recall how many times when as a kid, my dad would pack up the Buick LeSabre with enough food to feed an army and all five of us (me, dad, mom and 2 brothers) head to a picnic to meetup with our Korean friends. What I do remember is all our friends lining up to eat my mom’s pork ribs coming off the grill that had the most unique combination of Kansas-style barbecue sauce and Korean gochujang. This was fusion before fusion was a thing. We researched and tested for months and months into finding the best recipe for Kansas City barbecue sauce, then combined it with the same Gchujang that we use in our OG hot sauce to bring to you that same flavor all my Korean friends lined up for many years ago.
